Frost Valley Trip scheduled for January 18-20, 2012

For over 20 years the Interschool Office has coordinated the Frost Valley peer leadership trip for the Interschools.   Six of our eight schools send their entire 10th grades to work with Senior Peer Leaders at the Frost Valley YMCA camp in upstate New York.   About 30 faculty from the Interschools also attend the three day trip.   The Peer Leaders work with students on issues relating to high school academic and extracurricular life, responsible decision making and socializing across school lines.   The students have fun, challenge themselves in different ways and meet new friends who will be part of their high school lives.   Please contact the Interschool Office if you have any questions about this upcoming event!

Frost Valley update

Over 300 10th graders, faculty and peer leaders went to Frost Valley and had an excellent time in late January!    The outdoor activities were excellent with tubing, broom ball and football dominating the scene.   Square dancing for 300 worked beautifully and the dance organized by the students ended with them wanting more.   Talent was on great display with tap dancing, guitar, poems and modern dance.    Excellent workshops were run by Derrick Gay (Do You See What I See?) and Frank Rojas and the peer leaders did an fantastic job working with their groups.   Thanks to everyone involved and especially Brandie Clarke and Paul Byrnes for their logistical skills.   Pictures will be posted shortly!
